Group Description: The Strategic, Defense and Shareholder Advisory team is a global group that focuses on advising clients with respect to shareholder activism, M&A defense, complex/contested M&A and related situations in North America, Europe and Asia.
What is the position? Evercore seeks to hire an experienced Associate for its Strategic, Defense and Shareholder Advisory Team based in London.
Primary Responsibilities: Evercore’s differentiated approach to advisory provides our Associates with the opportunity to work closely with senior bankers on industry-transforming transactions around the world. Specific Qualifications: Candidates should ideally have prior investment banking experience, a strong interest in activism defense, as well as the ability to think broadly about a range of issues confronting our firm’s clients. The Associate will be ambitious, self-directed, creative and resourceful. Knowledge of accounting, finance, valuation and business strategy is a must, as are excellent written and verbal communication skills. Responsibilities for an Associate include collaborating with clients to resolve complex financial and strategic issues, leading and executing live deal situations, drafting client presentation materials, assisting with new business development, and managing Analysts. This position comes with challenging work and a demanding environment in a rapidly growing firm.
The ideal candidate will have:
- 3-5 years of relevant work experience within investment banking
- An excellent, team-based attitude
- Strong work ethic and high energy level
- Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, specifically Excel and PowerPoint
