Our Energy Advisory practice operates across EMEA and the Americas as part of a fully integrated global franchise of more than 100 dedicated energy professionals - one of the largest and most active in investment banking. Over the past three years, the team has acted in a lead advisory role on more than two thirds of the largest energy transactions globally, a track record that speaks to both the depth of our client relationships and the quality of our execution.

The practice covers the full spectrum of the energy economy – upstream, midstream, downstream, energy transition, green fuels, and energy services and technology – spanning the conventional and new energy value chain. Our client base includes some of the world’s largest integrated energy companies, national oil companies, sovereign governments, independent operators, and leading financial sponsors. We sit in the boardrooms of some of the largest companies in the world, advising on their most consequential strategic, capital allocation, and capital structure decisions – M&A, capital raising, strategic defence and shareholder advisory, debt and equity capital markets, and restructuring.

Evercore seeks to hire an experienced Associate for its Energy Advisory team in London.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • You will work on live mandates from day one, taking meaningful ownership of execution across a genuinely global deal flow, and working directly with senior bankers and clients.
  • This is a lean team environment in which Associates are expected to play a visible role in both execution and client delivery, with day-to-day exposure to senior deal leads and regular involvement in strategic discussions.
  • Responsibilities include:
    • Leading financial modelling and valuation across the full energy value chain – DCF, NAV, LBO, and comparable analysis
    • Owning the production of pitch books, information memoranda, and board-level presentations
    • Driving deal execution end-to-end, coordinating across legal, technical, and counterparty advisers on cross-border transactions
    • Managing and mentoring junior analysts, with a genuine investment in their development
    • Contributing directly to client discussions and origination activity alongside senior coverage bankers
    • Engaging across EMEA and Americas deal flow, with broad exposure across products, geographies, and transaction types

  • We are seeking truly exceptional candidates – technically outstanding, intellectually curious, and motivated by working on the most complex and consequential transactions in the energy sector.
  • 4-6 years of investment banking experience, with meaningful exposure to energy or natural resources
  • Exceptional financial modelling skills – rigorous, accurate and efficient under pressure
  • Experience across M&A, ECM, DCM, or restructuring transactions; cross-border and multi-jurisdictional a plus
  • Degree from a leading university; CFA or ACA advantageous
  • Outstanding communication skills (written and verbal) with the ability to articulate ideas and to engage at senior levels
  • Calm under pressure with a demonstrated track record of successfully managing multiple projects simultaneously
