Group Description: Evercore’s Private Funds Group (“PFG”) provides comprehensive, global advisory and capital raising services to select private fund sponsors. PFG’s clients include general partners pursuing a wide spectrum of alternative investment strategies and asset classes, including buyouts, growth equity, private credit, infrastructure, and real assets. PFG advises and executes on all aspects of the fundraising process, includes competitive positioning and market assessment, preparation of marketing materials, investor introductions, and capital closings.
What is the position? The Private Funds Group team seeks to hire an Associate to join their team in London.
Primary Responsibilities - Advisory & Project Management:
Functions include, but are not limited to:
- Help execute live fundraises: coordinate workstreams, track investor feedback and diligence requests, prepare meeting materials, and execute next steps
- Assess prospective clients’ fundraising readiness: analyse strategy, team, track record, existing LP support and likely investor questions; turn the findings into clear positioning recommendations
- Build client and investor materials: draft pitch books, strategy-session presentations, fundraising updates, due-diligence responses and concise briefing notes
- Manage day-to-day client relationships: serve as a reliable point of contact for GP client teams, prepare for and follow up on client calls, anticipate information needs, and keep workstreams moving while escalating strategic decisions to senior bankers
- Partner with the internal sales team: brief colleagues on the manager’s strategy and positioning, equip them with investor-specific materials and responses, gather market feedback, and translate it into practical adjustments to the fundraising plan
- Support origination: identify and research prospective GP clients, develop a view on their fundraising needs and positioning, and help mid to senior team turn relevant market intelligence and relationships into credible new-business opportunities
- Monitor the fundraising market: follow GP launches, closes, LP appetite and competing strategies, translating developments into useful advice for clients and pitches
- Own the quality of junior-team output: review analyses and presentations for accuracy and consistency, guide analysts, and communicate findings succinctly to senior bankers
Specific Qualifications:
- 3-5 years of relevant work experience
- Strong interpersonal skills, including ability to work well in teams and articulate ideas
- Enthusiastic, outgoing, and achievement-oriented character
- Highly disciplined work ethic
- Private-markets fluency: a sound understanding of fundraising processes, LP diligence and how managers present performance; Direct primary fundraising experience is a strong plus
- Strong communication skills, both written and oral
- Commercial judgment: understands what will matter to an LP, distinguishes a genuine positioning issue from a presentation issue, and proposes practical ways forward
- Technical proficiency: strong PowerPoint and Excel skills; familiarity with private-markets databases and CRM systems is useful; early adopter and keen (but appropriate) user of AI tools is a strong plus
