Role Description
This is a contract, on-site Bricklayer role based in the Greater Liverpool Area. The Bricklayer will construct, repair, and maintain walls, partitions, and other structures using bricks, blocks, and related materials. Daily tasks include reading and interpreting drawings, setting out work, mixing and applying mortar, laying bricks to line and level, and cutting bricks to fit around openings and structural features. The role also involves pointing, patching, and repairing damaged brickwork, as well as working alongside other trades to ensure smooth project progress. The Bricklayer will follow site safety procedures, maintain tools and equipment, and support the site team in meeting quality and time requirements.
Qualifications
- Proven experience as a Bricklayer on residential and/or commercial construction projects, ideally within building envelope or façade works.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, plans, and specifications, with accurate setting out and measuring skills.
- Strong practical skills in brick and block laying, mortar mixing, cutting and shaping materials, and finishing to a high standard.
- Good understanding of construction site health and safety requirements and commitment to safe working practices.
- Relevant trade qualification or apprenticeship in Bricklaying or Masonry (or equivalent experience).
- Ability to work effectively as part of a site team, communicate clearly, and follow instructions from supervisors and site managers.
- Reliable, punctual, and able to manage workload to meet project deadlines; willingness to work in varying weather conditions on-site.
- CSCS card or equivalent site safety certification is preferred; experience working at height or with scaffolding is an advantage.
