We are currently supporting an innovative engineering and battery technology organisation developing next-generation energy solutions, as they look to hire a Facilities Maintenance Engineer to support their highly technical R&D facility.

This is not your typical facilities role. You will be working alongside scientists and engineers in a cutting-edge environment where reliability, uptime, and precision are critical to ongoing research and development activities.

The role will suit someone hands-on, proactive, and comfortable taking ownership of facility operations, maintenance coordination, and specialist infrastructure support within a fast-paced technical setting.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Supporting the smooth operation of laboratories, workshops, and technical facilities
  • Maintaining building infrastructure, HVAC systems, and specialist environments
  • Coordinating contractors, RAMS, and Permit to Work activities
  • Carrying out small electrical and plumbing repairs where required
  • Managing maintenance schedules and critical site spares
  • Supporting warehouse, workshop, and logistics activities
  • Helping ensure minimal downtime across a highly advanced engineering environment

What we’re looking for:

  • Experience within facilities maintenance, building services, or technical site operations
  • Hands-on approach with strong practical problem-solving skills
  • Experience working with contractors and maintenance compliance procedures
  • Comfortable supporting electrical, plumbing, and HVAC systems
  • Organised, reliable, and able to thrive in a fast-moving engineering environment
  • Controls or automation experience would be beneficial
