An innovative advanced engineering company developing next-generation electrification technologies for automotive, defence, marine, and motorsport applications is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer (PLC & MES) to support manufacturing operations across multiple UK sites. This hands-on role will focus on automation, process improvement, equipment reliability, and New Product Introduction within a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support NPI activities including process setup and validation
  • Diagnose manufacturing issues using PLC and automation expertise
  • Support communication systems such as Node-RED and MQTT
  • Improve production efficiency, cycle times, and line reliability
  • Support PFMEA activities and continuous improvement projects
  • Assist with manufacturing integration, tooling, and process development

Requirements

  • Manufacturing Engineering or similar background
  • Strong PLC and automation experience (Siemens, Beckhoff, Allen-Bradley)
  • Experience supporting automated manufacturing equipment
  • Knowledge of PFMEA, process improvement, and fault finding
  • Ability to read engineering drawings
  • Hands-on and proactive approach

Desirable

  • Node-RED / MQTT experience
  • Database or server integration exposure
  • Automotive, motorsport, electronics, or advanced manufacturing background
