This is an exciting role for a commercially minded Finance Controller to take ownership of setting up financial systems & processes within a scaling manufacturing organisation. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working close to the detail but also wants the opportunity to grow strategically.
The Finance Controller will:
- Own and manage the company’s day‑to‑day financial operations, including maintaining accurate records and overseeing payables, receivables, and bank reconciliations.
- Maintain full visibility of the company’s cashflow position, producing short- and medium‑term forecasts to support informed financial decision‑making.
- Prepare month‑end management information and reporting packs, supporting budgeting, forecasting, and smooth month‑end close processes.
- Coordinate payroll with external providers, managing monthly payroll inputs, approvals, and staff expense reimbursements.
- Support financial modelling, scenario planning, and forward‑looking analysis alongside the Finance Director to aid strategy and investment readiness.
- Oversee HR and people administration, including contracts, onboarding, personnel records, and compliance with employment policies.
Qualifications
- Strong experience in a similar finance role (e.g., Finance Manager, Assistant FC, Senior Bookkeeper) within the manufacturing engineering industry.
- Excellent working knowledge of core accounting processes.
- Solid understanding of payables, receivables, and credit control, with the ability to manage them independently.
- Exceptional attention to detail, organisation, and accuracy in all financial work.
