Our client, a leading specialist in the design, build, financing, and operation of EV solar car parks, is currently hiring an Electrical Engineer. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the safe and compliant delivery of combined Solar PV, EV charge points, and battery energy storage systems (BESS), covering site surveys, deployment, installation, and ongoing operations and maintenance.

Responsibilities

  • Contribute to the technical design and development of combined Solar PV, EV charge points, battery energy storage, and control system/PLC technologies.
  • Oversee technical builds by managing materials, lead times, and equipment orders, while identifying opportunities to improve time, cost, and quality control.
  • Communicate and collaborate with Sales Managers, Project Managers, Engineers, Client Representatives, Suppliers, DNO/DSO, and other key stakeholders.
  • Commission and test electrical installations to ensure compliance with regulations, specifications, and customer requirements.
  • Ensure compliance with electrical standards, including BS7671 and relevant codes of practice, across all projects.
  • Manage Operations and Maintenance (O&M) regimes to ensure statutory and routine equipment maintenance is performed in line with industry best practices and current regulations.

Qualifications

  • A time-served electrical apprenticeship with a minimum of 10 years' experience as a qualified electrical engineer in the commercial and industrial sectors, including inspection, testing, and design capabilities.
  • BS7671 18th Edition qualified with proven experience in Commercial Solar PV and EV Charge Point installations.
  • Strong project management skills, highly organised, and able to work autonomously while leading teams effectively.
  • A champion of Health & Safety and Quality, with up-to-date knowledge of current legislation and a continuous drive for improvement.
  • Excellent communicator with experience managing external consultants, contractors, and third-party stakeholders.
  • Proficient in Office 365, Jira, and electrical design software (Trimble, AutoCAD).
