Our client is seeking a Head of Strategic Energy to join their Senior Management Team. This is a key role within the organisation, driving consultancy growth while guiding clients through the evolving energy landscape. You\’ll combine technical expertise with commercial insight, delivering strategies on decarbonisation, net-zero, renewables, and energy infrastructure.
The Head of Strategic Energy will:
- Lead and develop client relationships, delivering tailored strategies and solutions for energy and net zero road mapping.
- Oversee project delivery, ensuring deadlines and budgets are met.
- Motivate, mentor, and grow a talented team in a collaborative environment.
- Build analytical models to assess energy demand, supply, and decarbonisation pathways.
- Produce high-quality reports, from detailed feasibility studies to clear executive summaries.
- Drive business development, identifying opportunities and expanding the client base.
- Manage commercial aspects of the team, including budgets and P&L.
The Head of Strategic Energy will have:
- Degree in a STEM subject (Master\’s in Energy/Sustainability desirable).
- Proven experience delivering strategic consultancy projects within the energy sector.
- Strong modelling skills in Excel (economic, financial, and business models).
- Good cross-disciplinary knowledge – electricity, surveying, MEP, and building.
- Strong knowledge of the UK energy landscape, policy, and decarbonisation agendas.
- Expertise in energy strategies, renewable/low-carbon technologies, and net-zero development.
