Our client, a manufacturer of electric performance vehicles, is currently looking for a

Technical Buyer to join their growing team.

Working closely with Engineering and Quality teams, you will play a key role in supplier selection, cost management, purchasing activities and supply chain performance, ensuring materials and components are delivered to the right quality, cost and timing targets.

The

Technical Buyer will

  • Identify, evaluate and onboard new suppliers to support current and future programmes.
  • Manage the RFQ process, ensuring competitive quotations are received and evaluated in line with project requirements.
  • Raise and manage purchase orders, ensuring materials are delivered in line with project and procurement schedules.
  • Work closely with Engineering and Quality teams to understand technical requirements and source suitable suppliers.
  • Review and interpret technical drawings and specifications to support procurement decisions.
  • Manage supplier performance across quality, cost and delivery metrics, resolving issues where required.
  • The

Technical Buye r will have

  • Experience in a Technical Buyer, Buyer or Purchasing role within an engineering, automotive, motorsport or manufacturing environment.
  • The ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and technical specifications.
  • Experience managing suppliers and negotiating commercial agreements.
  • The ability to prioritize workloads and work effectively within a fast-paced environment.
  • A proactive approach with strong problem-solving and organizational skills.
  • CIPS or MCIPS qualifications would be beneficial, although practical experience and a willingness to learn are more important.
