A cutting-edge aerospace company based in the UK is looking to hire a Senior Electrical Engineer – Powertrain, who will be responsible for HV distribution system design, power distribution system and the analysis and development of the HV protections.
The Senior Electrical Engineer – Powertrain will:
- Oversee the propulsion architecture and high-voltage (HV) system integration, including components and battery systems, ensuring seamless performance and reliability.
- Design and develop power distribution units and HV load protection systems, such as contactors and solid-state protections, to support efficient power management.
- Conduct functional, behavioural, and performance requirement analyses, leading the logical and architectural design, functional decomposition, and interface definition of HV systems.
- Perform safety assessments and detailed studies to guide the design and development of various HV architectures, with a focus on solid-state protection solutions.
- Integrate electronics within the battery pack, preparing documentation from initial design concepts to detailed schematics, and supporting verification and testing at the component level.
- Execute electrical system Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA) and support Fault Tree Analysis (FTA) to ensure system safety, reliability, and compliance with industry standards.
The Senior Electrical Engineer – Powertrain will have:
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Electronics or Aerospace Engineering.
- Experience working with HV (>200V) AC or DC.
- Experience with Electronics PCB mechanical integration.
- Railway, Automotive or Aerospace development design processes.
- Strong technical project management skills and support management level presentations and project overviews.
- Experience designing Electrical diagrams drawings.
