The Principal Test & Evaluation Engineer will lead the planning, execution and evaluation of testing activities for advanced battery systems within a highly regulated engineering environment. Working across the full product lifecycle, you will play a key role in validating system performance, safety and reliability while providing technical leadership across testing and evaluation programmes.
The Principal Test & Evaluation Engineer will be responsible for:
- Leading testing and evaluation programmes for advanced battery systems across development, qualification and in-service phases.
- Developing testing strategies and providing technical guidance on battery performance, safety and reliability assessments.
- Creating, reviewing and approving test plans, procedures and technical reports.
- Managing hazard and risk assessments associated with battery testing and fault simulation activities.
- Evaluating system performance under normal, abnormal and fault conditions.
- Supporting project planning, resource management, technical reporting and stakeholder engagement activities.
The Principal Test & Evaluation Engineer will have:
- A Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Electrical, Electronic, Mechanical, Systems Engineering or a related discipline)
- Strong knowledge and practical experience of battery technologies within high-integrity applications.
- Experience planning, executing and reporting battery system testing and validation activities.
- Understanding of test methodologies covering performance, safety, reliability and degradation assessment.
- Familiarity with Systems Engineering and Verification & Validation (V&V) processes
- Strong leadership, communication and technical problem-solving skills.
