We are recruiting for an experienced Battery Pack Principal Design Engineer to join an innovative engineering company developing advanced battery systems for automotive, defence, marine and industrial applications.
This is a great opportunity to play a key role in the design and development of battery modules and battery packs, working on projects from concept through to production.
The Role
- Lead the mechanical design of battery modules and battery packs.
- Package battery cells, electrical components, HV/LV harnesses and cooling systems into robust, manufacturable designs.
- Produce 3D CAD models and manufacturing drawings.
- Work closely with systems, thermal, electronics and manufacturing teams.
- Support prototype builds and production readiness.
- Liaise with suppliers and manufacturing partners to optimise designs.
You will have:
- A degree in Mechanical, Automotive or Electrical Engineering (or similar).
- Experience designing battery modules and battery packs.
- Strong CAD skills using SolidWorks, CATIA or Siemens NX.
- Experience with mechanical packaging, thermal management and manufacturing drawings.
- Good understanding of Design for Manufacture, GD&T and engineering best practice.
- Experience within automotive, defence, aerospace, marine or energy storage would be beneficial.
