Our client, a national manufacturing development facility supporting the scale-up of battery technologies for electric vehicles and energy storage is currently hiring a Business Development Engineer who will undergo a development programme to upskill them in battery manufacturing technologies. This position focuses on providing technical expertise to customers, understanding their requirements, and delivering tailored solutions that meet project needs while supporting the UK’s transition to electrification.

The Business Development Engineer will:

  • Manage technical aspects of proposal development from inquiry to order (ITO).
  • Deliver high-quality, fully costed technical proposals to secure profitable projects.
  • Lead technical handover to project execution teams after deal closure.
  • Interface with third-party supply partners to understand capabilities and integration requirements.
  • Analyse RFQs and tenders to determine scope, technical deviations, and winning strategies.

The Business Development Engineer will have:

  • Strong customer focus with excellent interpersonal and problem-solving skills.
  • Demonstrable business acumen and ability to manage multiple projects.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to lead technically based initiatives and influence stakeholders.
