Maintenance Lead in Birmingham

We are seeking a motivated Maintenance Lead to support the effective maintenance and reliability of production equipment and facilities. This hands-on role offers structured training and development in preventative and reactive maintenance, process improvement, and planned maintenance systems, giving you the technical skills to excel in a modern manufacturing environment.

The Maintenance Lead will:

• Assist with preventative and reactive maintenance on machinery, utilities, and site facilities.
• Support maintenance planning, scheduling, and documentation within the maintenance system.
• Help identify root causes of breakdowns and assist with long-term corrective actions.
• Work with production and engineering teams to minimise downtime and improve performance.
• Participate in installation, commissioning, and improvement of new or modified equipment.
• Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental standards during all activities.

The Maintenance Lead will have:

• Qualification in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering (apprenticeship, HNC/HND, or degree).
• Practical experience in industrial maintenance, ideally automotive.
• Strong technical ability with a hands-on approach and problem-solving mindset.
• Understanding of mechanical and electrical systems, fault finding, and preventative maintenance.
• Good IT literacy (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and awareness of health & safety practices.
• Self-motivated, organised, and eager to develop into a leadership role.
