We are looking for a Cell Failure & Degradation Analysis Engineer to work for the UK\’s largest lithium Ion Battery research & manufacturing centre. If you have experience in the characterisation of battery cells through various electrochemical and physical characterisation and testing techniques, then we would love to speak with you! The Cell Failure Analysis Engineer will: Lead all the cell failure analysis activities. Develop methodology and techniques to identify failure modes in cells. Prepare and manage procedures, methodology, equipment, and protocols for all cell failure analysis activities. Perform root cause analysis of various problems appearing during manufacturing process of cells leading to sub optimal cell performance. Create technical reports for customer projects to be delivered up to board level. The Cell Failure Analysis Engineer will have: Masters Degree or PhD in electrochemistry or other related discipline. 3 or more years of direct industrial experience in lithium-ion battery industry for both laboratory and commercial-grade cells (such as 21700 and/or pouch cells). Skills in various electrochemical techniques such as impedance spectroscopy (EIS), cyclic voltammetry (CV), galvanostatic cycling (GC), galvanostatic intermittent titration techniques (GITT or PITT), DQ/DV etc. Experience of various material characterisation techniques such as SEM, EDS, XRD, GCMS, TGA, DSC etc. Results driven with the ability to deliver operational plans in a highly demanding environment.
