We are currently looking for an Associate Engineer - Building Services Engineering for our client, a multi-disciplinary engineering practice with a passion for excellence, innovation, and environmental sustainability. The successful candidate will be responsible, under the leadership of the MEP Director, for the technical project management of medium to large scale projects and individual engineering task(s) for numerous schemes for clients across sectors.
The Associate Engineer - Building Services Engineering will:
- Lead the design and delivery of mechanical building services, including HVAC (inc. clean/dry rooms), hot and cold water, steam, foul drainage, compressed air, and BMS systems.
- Carry out site surveys and inspections, ensuring accurate assessment of existing conditions and project requirements.
- Produce design calculations, technical specifications, reports, and drawings using both manual and software-based methods.
- Manage and coordinate project teams, allocating workloads across engineers, graduates, and support staff.
- Oversee project commercial aspects including budgeting, income tracking, and cost management.
- Represent the company in client meetings, maintain strong relationships, and identify opportunities for future work.
The Associate Engineer - Building Services Engineering will have:
- Engineering Degree - Mechanical / Electrical / Buildings.
- Chartered or on way to Charter-ship.
- Minimum 10 years in Building Services Engineering - Mechanical or Electrical (Must be UK-Based design experience).
- Demonstrable experience in running customer projects through to completion either at a consultancy or contractor.
- Experience managing technical team.
- Strong communication and client-facing skills, with the ability to operate independently and within multidisciplinary teams across various office locations.
- High attention to detail, self-motivated, and eager to contribute to innovative projects across a broad range of industry sectors.
