We are looking for a Supplier Quality Engineer to work for a high-performance EV business, ensuring the quality, reliability and compliance of its critical supply base. This is a proactive, hands‑on role bridging engineering, procurement and supplier development, working with a wide range of specialist and low‑volume suppliers producing bespoke components across mechanical, electrical and composite domains.
The Supplier Quality Engineer will be responsible for:
- Carrying out supplier assessments, audits and onboarding to confirm capability, quality and compliance.
- Developing and maintaining supply chain quality standards and processes.
- Working with engineering and procurement to validate supplier manufacturing methods and control plans.
- Managing supplier non-conformances, leading root cause analysis and corrective actions using tools such as 8D and Ishikawa.
- Developing and monitoring supplier KPIs and driving performance improvement initiatives.
- Supporting initial sample inspection, incoming quality control and documentation verification.
- Ensuring traceability and conformance for safety-critical and performance-critical parts.
The Supplier Quality Engineer will have:
- Proven experience in supplier quality, manufacturing quality or supply chain engineering, ideally within automotive, motorsport or high-performance sectors.
- Knowledge of quality systems and methodologies such as ISO 9001, IATF 16949, PPAP, APQP, FMEA and FAIR.
- The ability to read and interpret technical drawings and engineering specifications.
- Strong hands‑on problem-solving and auditing skills.
- Willingness to travel to suppliers across the UK, with occasional international visits.
- Exposure to EV systems, prototype or low‑volume environments, or formal auditor and quality certifications would be advantageous.
