The Procurement Lead will take ownership of the performance, control and continuous improvement of the procurement function within a world-renowned manufacturer of high-performance automotive systems.
The role is split roughly 50/50. Half is hands-on operational procurement. The other half is process improvement, forecasting, supplier development and MRP optimisation. It suits someone analytical and commercially minded who enjoys both day-to-day delivery and longer-term improvement.
The Procurement Lead will:
- Own the day-to-day performance of the procurement function and support the Procurement Administrator with priorities and supplier issues.
- Improve MRP accuracy and automation, reducing reliance on manual Kanban, spreadsheets and duplicate processes.
- Develop purchasing requirements using historic usage, the order book and sales forecasts.
- Identify and develop new and alternative suppliers globally to improve cost, quality, lead time and resilience.
- Negotiate pricing, lead times, MOQs and commercial terms, including blanket and call-off arrangements.
The Procurement Lead will have:
- Strong procurement, purchasing or supply chain experience, ideally within a manufacturing or engineering environment.
- Excellent practical knowledge of MRP and ERP systems. SAP Business One would be highly advantageous.
- Advanced Excel and analytical skills, with the ability to turn data into clear actions.
- A strong understanding of demand forecasting and inventory planning.
