Responsibilities
- Define and execute sourcing strategies for electro mechanical components, assemblies, and integrated systems.
- Lead supplier selection, qualification, and long-term relationship management across global supply bases.
- Source components from manufacturers and distributors across Europe, the UK, the USA, and Asia to ensure supply resilience.
- Drive cost-down initiatives, value engineering, and total cost of ownership improvements.
- Negotiate commercial agreements, including LTAs, pricing frameworks, and capacity commitments.
- Manage supply chain risks including long lead times, constrained components, and single-source suppliers.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in a Strategic Buyer or Senior Buyer role within automotive or advanced manufacturing.
- Strong background in electro mechanical procurement and complex supply chain management.
- Ability to read engineering drawings and review CAD, challenging feasibility where necessary.
- Hands-on experience sourcing from global manufacturers and distributors.
- Commercial acumen, with a track record of cost reduction, value engineering, and margin protection.
- Confidence and analytical capability to operate strategically while remaining effective at a hands-on operational level.
