Our client, a pioneer in scalable, high-power anode materials for lithium-ion batteries is currently looking for a Senior Battery Engineer. The successful candidate will lead or support the design and development of advanced ELV battery products using various cell formats.
The Senior Battery Engineer will:
- Develop CAD models plus mechanical and electrical design packages for new battery modules and integrated systems.
- Liaise with suppliers and subcontract manufacturers for part and/or systems procurement, tooling, and integration.
- Manage verification testing for safety, thermal, mechanical, and electrical compliance.
- Draft and maintain technical documentation including drawings, test reports, and BOMs.
- Support prototype assembly and low-rate initial production (LRIP) via subcontractors.
- Conduct or manage teardown, benchmarking, and redesign of commercial ELV battery products.
The Senior Battery Engineer will have:
- Bachelor of Engineering in Mechanical, Electrical, Mechatronic, or related field.
- Demonstrated experience with CAD tools (e.g., SolidWorks, Fusion 360, or equivalent).
- Proven record of hands-on prototyping and mechanical integration.
- Familiarity with lithium-ion battery safety and design practices.
- Vendor and project coordination experience, including international suppliers.
- Developed modules and pack - taken from cell selection through to a finished product (Ideally High-Power battery pack).
