We are currently looking for a Principal Electrical Engineer, to join a leading manufacturer of motorcycles based in the UK. The successful candidate will provide technical leadership, cross-functional coordination, and team mentorship, ensuring that all projects meet performance, quality, and timing targets. The Principal Electrical Engineer will: Approve hardware and Software requirements for the Electrical system (working with system architects, design and the product management team) Manage Engineering Service Suppliers and Tier 1 Suppliers to meet project Cost, Quality and Timing deliverables. Provide technical leadership and oversight across multiple projects, ensuring compliance with industry standards and best practices. Manage ESP and suppliers. Support project planning, budgeting, and resource allocation. The Principal Electrical Engineer will have: Leadership experience – Must have lead a team of electrical systems engineers Electrical Systems Engineering Experience (Must be Electrical or Electronics background) Experience working with Tier 1 suppliers and managing external engineering service partners. In-depth understanding of hardware/software interfaces, vehicle communication networks, and system validation. Knowledge of functional safety (ISO 26262) and embedded systems development. Familiarity with CAN, LIN, and diagnostic protocols. Strong technical understanding of electrical system architectures, ECU design, power management, and vehicle integration.
