Our client is currently looking for a highly organised Materials & Manufacturing Planning Manager who thrives at the centre of fast-paced engineering operations. This role is perfect for someone who enjoys balancing material flow, production schedules, and manufacturing capacity, ensuring the right parts, resources, and plans are in place to keep programmes moving.

The Materials & Manufacturing Planning Manager will:

  • Plan and schedule internal manufacturing activities in line with production demand and programme milestones.
  • Prepare the weekly Master Production Schedule (MPS), consolidating all customer demand and presenting it for approval.
  • Collaborate closely with the Expeditor to prioritise shortages and proactively mitigate visibility gaps.
  • Ensure materials and components are available to support production sequences and work-order release.
  • Monitor capacity, labour, and machine availability, highlighting constraints and risks to delivery.
  • Track progress against the plan, escalating delays or issues that threaten schedule adherence.

The Materials & Manufacturing Planning Manager will have:

  • Experience in materials planning, manufacturing planning, or production planning roles.
  • Understanding of MRP/ERP systems and production scheduling within engineering or manufacturing settings.
  • Ability to plan internal resources effectively, including labour, materials, and machine capacity.
  • Strong organisational skills with exceptional attention to detail and data accuracy.
  • A proactive, problem-solving mindset with clear and confident communication across teams.
  • Comfort working in fast-moving environments, adapting plans quickly when requirements change.
