Our client is seeking a Head of Strategic Energy to join their Senior Management Team. This is a key leadership role, driving consultancy growth while guiding clients through the evolving energy landscape. You\’ll combine technical expertise with commercial insight, delivering strategies on decarbonisation, net-zero, renewables, and energy infrastructure. The Head of Strategic Energy will: Lead and develop client relationships, delivering tailored strategies and solutions. Oversee project delivery, ensuring deadlines and budgets are met. Motivate, mentor, and grow a talented team in a collaborative environment. Build analytical models to assess energy demand, supply, and decarbonisation pathways. Produce high-quality reports, from detailed feasibility studies to clear executive summaries. Drive business development, identifying opportunities and expanding the client base. Manage commercial aspects of the team, including budgets and P&L. The Head of Strategic Energy will have: Degree in a STEM subject (Master\’s in Energy/Sustainability desirable). Chartered Engineer and Member of the Energy Institute (or equivalent). Proven experience delivering strategic consultancy projects within the energy sector. Strong modelling skills in Excel (economic, financial, and business models). Good cross-disciplinary knowledge – electricity, surveying, MEP, and building. Strong knowledge of the UK energy landscape, policy, and decarbonisation agendas. Expertise in energy strategies, renewable/low-carbon technologies, and net-zero development.
