Our client, a specialist in design, manufacturing and engineering is currently looking to hire a Head of Innovation. The successful candidate will be leading the engineering and research team, delivering commercially exploitable results and innovation to support growth projects throughout the business.
The Head of Innovation will:
- Develop a pipeline of grant funded research projects to grow skills & capability in advanced manufacturing.
- Provide business intelligence, identify future market opportunities and keep us head of industry trends.
- Deliver high-quality engineering and research projects to support the business growth strategy.
- Prepare RFQs, grant bids and business cases for new opportunities.
- Support external market engagement events showcasing the organisation’s innovation.
The Head of Innovation will have:
- A suitable degree qualification in Mechanical and/or Electrical Engineering.
- Understands market trends, drivers and needs in the manufacturing sector.
- Working knowledge of financial management and commercial principles.
- Proven negotiation, persuasion and influencing skills.
- Computer literate and familiar with Word, Excel, Powerpoint and MS Project.
- Familiarity with CRM systems like Hubspot or MSDynamics.
- Leadership experience of running multidisciplinary engineering teams.
- Knowledge of electrified powertrain systems, technology roadmaps, transport strategy and sustainability initiatives for net-zero.
