We are looking for a Senior Embedded Software Engineer to join a small, specialist team within a multinational company with a strong history in battery management system development. The work is varied but centres on vehicle traction batteries, from BMS software and electronics through to battery module and pack development, and you will support activities across the full product development lifecycle. The Senior Embedded Software Engineer will be responsible for: Writing C code for drivers and safety features on TI TMS570 and other ARM-based microcontrollers for the main BMS product. Implementing safety-related features of SafeRTOS in line with safety requirements. Creating and owning low-level design documents and supporting integration of auto-generated code and AUTOSAR-based software. Carrying out unit testing and static analysis against standards such as MISRA, CERT-C and MAAB. Debugging using tools such as Lauterbach, Tasking, Vector CANalyzer and ETAS INCA, and supporting vehicle and system-level issue resolution. Writing Python, CAPL and batch scripts to automate build, test and development processes. Managing software through version control (SVN) and CI/CD tools such as Azure DevOps and Jenkins. The Senior Embedded Software Engineer will have: A degree in Software Engineering or a related discipline. Strong embedded C skills, ideally on TI TMS570 or other ARM-based microcontrollers. Experience with safety-focused real-time operating systems such as SafeRTOS or FreeRTOS. Experience developing to ISO 26262 (or equivalent) and the V-model, including MISRA C, unit testing and code coverage. A background in high-integrity systems, ideally within automotive and HV applications. Hands-on experience with CAN, UDS and XCP, version control (SVN/Git) and CI/CD pipelines. Experience with Simulink auto-code generation, AUTOSAR, CERT-C or scripting languages would be advantageous. This role would suit a driven engineer who enjoys solving problems independently, thrives in a fast-paced team and wants to keep broadening their technical skills.
