We are seeking an Equipment Development Engineer to support the development and optimisation of manufacturing processes and facilities for advanced product assembly. This role focuses on designing, implementing and improving processes, tooling and automation solutions to ensure safe, efficient and high-quality production. You will play a key part in shaping manufacturing capability from early concept through to full production, working across multidisciplinary teams in a fast-paced engineering environment.
The Equipment Development Engineer will be responsible for:
- Developing and implementing manufacturing processes for assembly and test operations.
- Designing and validating jigs, fixtures and tooling to support production.
- Supporting the integration of automation systems, including robotics and control systems.
- Working with internal teams and suppliers to procure and commission equipment and tooling.
- Ensuring processes meet quality, cost and performance targets.
- Supporting manufacturing activities through early build phases and into production.
The Equipment Development Engineer will have:
- ~35 years experience in a process engineering role within a low to medium volume assembly environment.
- ~Experience in low-volume process engineering and development, ideally within battery or advanced product manufacturing.
- ~Strong CAD capability (e.g. SolidWorks, Inventor) for fixture and tooling design.
- ~Practical experience designing and integrating automation and control systems.
- ~Strong understanding of precision assembly, process control, testing requirements and layout flow.
- ~Proficiency in Microsoft Office, CAD and relevant simulation or engineering tools.
