Our client, a leading engineering consultancy delivering innovative solutions that make vehicles and journeys safer, cleaner, and smarter worldwide is currently looking to hire a Battery/Fuel Cell Test Technician. The successful candidate will support the preparation, setup, and safe execution of EV battery testing within advanced battery development facilities.

The Battery/Fuel Cell Test Technician will:

  • Set up and assist in delivering EV battery tests in BAT and ABDS facilities, performing both electrical and mechanical tasks including instrumentation.
  • Carry out pre-test safety checks on customer-supplied products and equipment to ensure safe operation.
  • Operate and monitor customer test equipment for solid oxide fuel cells, including installation, diagnostics, and routine maintenance.
  • Safely deconstruct test setups and clear down facilities following test completion.
  • Harvest and process test data, providing basic analysis and generating standard test reports.
  • Support additional test activities at other locations as needed and work flexibly across day and potential shift patterns.

The Battery/Fuel Cell Test Technician will have:

  • Experience in batteries (destructive testing) or prototyping environment (building or testing electrical parts).
  • A hands-on, practical approach with a genuine interest in how things work (e.g., enjoys working on bikes, cars, or similar projects).
  • Naturally inquisitive and eager to learn, with a strong desire to understand and explore new technologies.
  • Aptitude in mechanical and/or electrical/electronic engineering.
  • Meticulous attention to detail and a precise approach to tasks.
  • Completed a relevant engineering apprenticeship or similar hands-on training.
