Eventus Legal are seeking a Family Solicitor with experience in care proceedings to join a successful team based in Sunderland. The successful candidate will be working with excellent administration support, great benefits and genuine progression opportunities. The role is a permanent position.
Role responsibilities
- The successful Family Solicitor will be tasked with progressing a caseload of publicly funded family law matters, with particular focus on Care Proceedings, along with pre proceeding matters such as PLO and child protection.
- You will mainly be representing Parents, although the firm do have a large amount of Guardian work.
- You will also be advising on private children matters.
- The role will involve managing your own caseload, supporting your clients and undertaking your own advocacy where possible.
- You will have excellent administration support, as well as support from an experienced and highly-regarded team of Solicitors.
- There will be no divorce or finances work as part of this caseload, which is dealt with by a separate branch of the team.
Person specification
- Applications are sought from Solicitors or Legal Executives who are experienced in Care Proceedings, ideally those 3 PQE and above, capable of running their own caseload with limited supervision.
- You must have prior experience of publicly funded family work, alongside private children matters.
- Advocacy experience is essential.
- The firm are open to receiving applications from Solicitors or Legal Executives of all levels of PQE, provided you have the requisite experience, there is no upper limit.
- Children’s Panel Membership is not a pre-requisite (although welcomed) but the firm will absolutely fund and support your application to join.
