Eventus Recruitment are seeking a Legal Secretary to join the Private Client department of a highly regarded, award-winning law firm in Hertfordshire. This is a permanent, full-time job offering an excellent opportunity to join one of the largest and most highly ranked Private Client teams in the region.

This Legal Secretary job is a key support function within the busy and collaborative Private Client team. You will be supporting a minimum of two lawyers, including partners and senior associates, to deliver exceptional service to a wide client base. As the incoming Legal Secretary, you will be responsible for a broad range of administrative and client-facing duties, including:

  • Answering incoming calls and assisting with client enquiries in the absence of the lawyers
  • Meeting and greeting clients, handling queries and taking accurate messages or file notes
  • Opening and closing files in line with compliance procedures, including AML checks
  • Managing diaries and scheduling appointments and meetings
  • Organising meeting rooms and refreshments
  • Processing outgoing post and emails
  • Maintaining and updating internal systems, files, and records
  • Drafting standard letters and legal forms for lawyer review
  • Document management, including handling deeds and liaising with the typing service
  • Working closely with the accounts team to process transaction requisitions
  • Inputting data into practice management and case management systems (Peppermint, Isokon, Hoowla)
  • General office admin including photocopying, filing, and archiving
  • Supporting with IT, telephone or printer queries and reporting faults as needed
  • Assisting with wider team and departmental tasks, including cover support
