Eventus Legal are seeking a permanent, full-time Commercial Litigation Senior Solicitor to join the Commercial Litigation team of a well-established and growing law firm in Stoke-on-Trent, Staffordshire. This position offers hybrid working, providing flexibility and the opportunity to work within a collaborative and ambitious legal practice.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Senior Solicitor to manage a varied and high-quality caseload while playing a key role in the continued growth and development of the firm's dispute resolution offering. About the Job Opportunity

This role offers the opportunity to handle a broad range of commercial and civil disputes while contributing to business development, mentoring colleagues and supporting the strategic growth of the department. You will work closely with the Head of Commercial Litigation and be encouraged to develop your own client base and professional profile.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Managing a varied commercial litigation caseload from instruction through to conclusion with minimal supervision
  • Advising on commercial disputes including shareholder, partnership and directors' disputes
  • Handling commercial and residential property disputes
  • Managing contractual disputes, professional negligence claims and debt recovery matters
  • Advising on insolvency-related litigation and enforcement proceedings
  • Dealing with restrictive covenant and defamation matters where required
  • Representing clients in County Court and High Court proceedings, including advocacy where appropriate
  • Utilising alternative dispute resolution methods including mediation and settlement negotiations
  • Developing and maintaining strong relationships with clients, referrers and professional contacts
  • Supporting business development initiatives, networking activities and marketing campaigns
  • Monitoring financial performance, billing, work in progress and credit control matters
  • Contributing to the training, supervision and development of colleagues within the department
  • Ensuring compliance with regulatory and risk management requirements

About You

The hiring company is seeking an experienced Commercial Litigation Solicitor who can confidently manage a broad caseload of contentious matters whilst helping to drive the continued success of the Commercial Litigation team. You will be commercially minded, proactive and capable of building strong relationships with clients and colleagues alike. You should also be able to demonstrate the following:

  • Qualified Solicitor or equivalent legal qualification
  • Significant experience managing a varied commercial litigation caseload
  • Strong knowledge of commercial dispute resolution and civil litigation matters
  • Experience conducting litigation in the County Court and High Court
  • Familiarity with mediation and alternative dispute resolution processes
  • Strong business development and networking skills
  • Ability to supervise, mentor and support junior colleagues
