Eventus Legal are seeking a Public Law Solicitor with experience to join a well-established firm based in County Durham, to specialise in Care Proceedings. The successful candidate will be working with a well-known and respected Family law team. The role is a permanent position.
Role responsibilities
- The successful Public Law Solicitor will be tasked with progressing a caseload of publicly funded family law matters, with particular focus on Care Proceedings, along with pre proceeding matters such as PLO and child protection.
- The role will involve managing your own caseload, supporting your clients and undertaking your own advocacy where possible.
Person specification
- Applications are welcomed from Solicitors and Legal Executives, ideally with a minimum of 1 PQE, but newly qualified Solicitors will be considered if you have experience within care proceedings.
- More experienced applicants are welcomed, with no upper limit.
- You must have excellent working knowledge of Legal Aid and CCMS system, and a willingness to develop your advocacy skills if you have not already done so.
- Experience in publicly funded Family law is essential, ideally specialising in care proceedings.
- You will be supported in your application to the Children’s Panel should you wish to do so, and applicants already accredited are very much sought after.
Rewards
- A competitive salary, performance related bonus and flexibility over office vs home working.
- This role is available either on a full or part-time basis, with working from home available on a permanent basis.
- There is a lot of work available in this team, and as such you will comfortably bill over target allowing access to the bonus system, where you could earn substantial amounts on top of your base salary.
