Eventus Legal are looking to recruit a Family Solicitor to join a long-established and highly regarded Cheshire law firm with an excellent reputation. This permanent, full-time Family Solicitor job is based in Northwich, Cheshire and offers a salary of up to £65,000 depending on experience. Some excellent benefits include time off for your birthday, enhanced pension, parking on site and Christmas shutdown period. This Family Solicitor job has arisen due to continued growth within the Family department. The firm is recognised within leading independent legal directories and is known for its supportive, collaborative and down‐to-earth culture. While this is primarily an office‐based job some flexibility may be considered including adjusted working hours and hybrid working.

Job Responsibilities

  • Handle a varied caseload with a strong emphasis on financial remedy work.
  • Manage own caseload while working closely with colleagues within a collaborative and community‐focused environment.
  • Extensive experience handling financial remedy matters within privately funded Family Law.
  • Manage a full caseload of family law matters including divorce, civil partnership disputes, separation agreements, cohabitation agreements, pre and post nuptial agreements and TOLATA matters.
  • Experience conducting court advocacy and representing clients where appropriate.
  • Build and maintain strong client relationships through excellent client care and communication.
  • Ensure compliance with Lexcel and internal procedural standards.
  • Strong organisational and time management skills with the ability to prioritise a busy workload effectively.
  • Participate in networking, business development and wider firm initiatives.
  • Resolution accreditation, Law Society panel membership or working towards accreditation would be advantageous.
  • Knowledge of legal aid is preferred but not essential as training can be provided.

Person Specification

  • At least 5 years' PQE and previous experience independently handling a varied family law caseload, with particular strength in financial remedies work.
  • Proven experience handling privately funded family law matters.
  • Strong experience in financial remedy work.
  • Previous advocacy experience.
  • Excellent client care and communication skills.
  • Strong organisational and time management skills.
  • Experience using Microsoft Office and case management systems.
  • Resolution accreditation or panel membership would be advantageous.
  • Knowledge of legal aid is preferred but not essential.
