Eventus Legal are seeking a Private Client Solicitor to join a well-established and highly regarded law firm based in Durham, County Durham or Darlington, County Durham. This is a permanent, full-time job offering 35 hours per week with flexible working patterns (not a traditional 9–5), alongside an excellent benefits package including a firm-wide bonus scheme, enhanced holiday entitlement, pension contributions, life assurance, and a range of wellbeing and lifestyle perks. Role Responsibilities

  • Managing a full caseload of Private Client matters including Wills, Trusts, Lasting Powers of Attorney, and Estate Administration
  • Providing high-quality legal advice to clients with professionalism, care, and attention to detail
  • Supporting colleagues and collaborating effectively within the Private Client team
  • Building and maintaining strong client relationships while developing new connections with referrers and professional contacts
  • Undertaking fee-earning work and ensuring a profitable contribution to the department
  • Supervising support staff where appropriate and assisting with team development
  • Participating in networking, marketing, and business development activities to generate new work
  • Maintaining accurate and compliant files in line with regulatory and Lexcel standards
  • Managing billing, time recording, and financial aspects of your caseload effectively
  • Cross‑referring work internally and contributing to the wider success of the firm

Person Specification

  • A minimum of 5 years’ PQE in Private Client law
  • Proven experience managing a broad Private Client caseload independently
  • Strong knowledge of Wills, Trusts, Probate, and Estate Planning matters
  • Excellent drafting, analytical, and problem‑solving skills
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build lasting client relationships
  • The ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team environment
  • High levels of organisation, attention to detail, and the ability to meet deadlines
  • A proactive, motivated, and positive approach to work and business development
  • Commercial awareness and the ability to identify opportunities for growth
