Eventus Legal are seeking an experienced Legal Secretary/Conveyancing Assistant with Residential Conveyancing experience to join a thriving and fast-growing law firm in Middlesbrough, Teesside. This job is ideal for an experienced Conveyancing Legal Secretary or Conveyancing Assistant who can hit the ground running within a busy Residential Conveyancing team. You will be based in the Middlesbrough, Teesside office, supporting fee earners with a varied caseload of residential property transactions while being part of a close-knit and supportive team.

Role Responsibilities

As a Legal Secretary/Conveyancing Assistant supporting the Residential Conveyancing department in Middlesbrough, you will provide comprehensive secretarial and administrative assistance. The incoming Legal Secretary/Conveyancing Assistant will play a pivotal part in ensuring the smooth progression of residential property files and delivering outstanding client care.

  • Providing dedicated secretarial support on a busy caseload of residential conveyancing matters including sales, purchases, new builds, leasehold properties and equity release cases.
  • Preparing correspondence, contracts and legal documentation through audio dictation and digital case management systems.
  • Assisting with the progression of residential property files, ensuring all documentation is accurate and up to date.
  • Liaising with clients, estate agents, lenders and third parties to maintain proactive communication throughout transactions.
  • Using the LEAP case management system (experience highly desirable).
  • Handling Land Registry applications, SDLT submissions and general administrative tasks.
  • Ensuring exceptional client care standards are upheld at all times to maintain the firm’s strong local reputation.

This position is more focused on providing high-level secretarial support rather than running files in your own name, although long-term progression is available for ambitious Legal Secretaries.

This job will suit a confident and experienced Conveyancing Legal Secretary, Conveyancing Assistant or Residential Property Legal Secretary who thrives in a busy, fast-paced environment.
