Eventus Legal are seeking a Family Solicitor with experience to join a successful team based in Leeds city centre. The successful Family Solicitor will be working within a small, highly experienced team. The role is a permanent position available on a full-time basis, with hybrid working (office-based one day per week) and competitive salary up to £70,000. Benefits include 23 days holiday, plus bank holidays and additional days over Christmas shutdown, death in service, life insurance and medical insurance and overall, a strong opportunity to gain a positive work-life balance.
Role responsibilities
- Undertake private fee-earning work and provide a profitable contribution to the work of the firm.
- Manage a full caseload of privately funded family law matters, with a focus on complex financial remedies and sensitive children-related issues.
- Successfully retain all clients during transitions in representation by providing reassurance and continuity of service.
- Rapidly assimilate ongoing cases and deliver effective advocacy at remote court hearings.
- Proactively convert new client referrals into active instructions, contributing to sustained and ongoing business growth.
- Advise on the division of high-value assets including businesses, trusts, and offshore holdings.
- Regularly handle cross-jurisdictional divorce issues and work closely with forensic accountants to ensure fair financial disclosure.
- Draft bespoke agreements designed to protect individual or family wealth before or during marriage, often involving international assets or parties.
- Manage complex disputes involving custody, international relocation, and privacy, particularly in high-profile or high-net-worth cases.
- Management of support services for which (s)he is responsible, including supervision of own assistant if required.
- Performance and compliance management support to the Managing Director in respect of junior fee earners/solicitors.
- Participation in marketing/brand promotion activities, whether on a firmwide, LinkedIn postings, departmental or office basis as directed by the Managing Director.
Person specification
- Qualified Solicitor or Fellow of CILEX with a minimum of 5 Years PQE in privately funded matters.
- Confident and competent advocate.
- Good understanding and competence of IT.
- Commercially aware and astute.
- Supportive, trusted, self-motivated and understand the importance of work-life balance.
