Eventus Legal is seeking an experienced and talented Employment Solicitor to join an established and professional law firm based in Leeds, West Yorkshire. Our client is a respected and growing legal firm, recognised for expert advice delivered with integrity, clarity and a personal touch. As they expand, they are seeking motivated and experienced Solicitors to join the Employment team and support the continued growth of the department. The role is suitable for an established Solicitor with extensive experience, and my client is looking for someone highly organised and methodical.

This is a full time, permanent role offering a competitive salary up to £50,000 (DOE), 25 days a year plus bank holidays, hybrid working, pension scheme, Private Medical Insurance after 6 months, Gym membership after 1 year, access to free parking and a supportive environment that is wellbeing focused.

Role Responsibilities

The incoming Employment Solicitor will be responsible for managing their own caseload and delivering high quality legal advice and services to clients. The role involves working closely with clients, colleagues, and external professionals to ensure matters are progressed efficiently while maintaining the highest professional and ethical standards.

  • Meeting and interviewing clients to assess the firm’s suitability to provide legal advice and services
  • Taking client instructions and advising on the legal issues relating to their matter
  • Providing clear, practical, and commercially focused legal advice
  • Drafting legal documents, correspondence, and contracts tailored to clients’ individual needs
  • Conducting legal research and analysing case law and documentation to support matters
  • Ensuring the accuracy of legal advice and compliance with relevant procedures
  • Negotiating with clients, opposing parties, and other professionals to achieve agreed objectives
  • Preparing matters for hearings, negotiations, or settlement discussions
  • Coordinating the work of all parties involved in legal matters
  • Corresponding with clients, opposing solicitors, and third parties
  • Attending meetings and negotiations with opposing parties where appropriate
  • Attending court and dealing with court correspondence where required
  • Arranging and attending further client meetings to progress matters and finalise documentation
  • Supervising and delegating work to trainee solicitors and paralegals where appropriate
  • Supervising the implementation of legal agreements and documentation
  • Keeping up to date with developments in the law through journals, law reports, and professional updates

The successful Employment Solicitor for the position based in our clients Leeds, West Yorkshire office will have:

  • Newly qualified, up to 2-3 years PQE
  • Excellent IT, verbal, and written communication skills
  • A high level of accuracy with strong attention to detail
  • The ability to follow instructions and work methodically
  • Strong organisational and time management skills
  • Initiative and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team
  • Patience and tact, with the ability to work professionally with clients from a wide range of backgrounds
