Eventus Legal is looking for a credible and motivated Conveyancing Assistant. The successful applicant will be joining a well established and highly respected legal firm in Leeds city centre, West Yorkshire. This role involves working with both residential and new build property teams. The role is very client focused and the successful candidate will pride themselves on delivering a professional, helpful, and friendly service. This is a full time, permanent position offering a competitive salary of up to £26,000, holiday starting at 23 days increasing to 26 after 12 months and 31 days after 5 years, profit sharing scheme, company pension scheme, life assurance, private health insurance, enhanced maternity and paternity pay, regular company wide social events, free conveyancing services and discounted bus travel.
Role Responsibilities
- Creating and opening new case files, entering instructions into the case management system, and preparing associated correspondence and documentation
- Maintaining accurate and up-to-date records on the case management system in line with team processes as matters progress
- Preparing and issuing contracts for sale files, and supporting the handling of enquiry responses
- Requesting and managing property searches
- Assisting with exchange processes and completing all related documentation
- Coordinating and organising completions
- Preparing and sending mortgage reports to clients
- Reviewing and processing incoming post as required
- Handling telephone queries efficiently where appropriate
- Conducting general administrative tasks including filing, billing, photocopying, post sorting, and archiving
- Providing wider administrative support to the office and firm as needed
Person Specification
The successful Conveyancing Assistant will possess strong administrative skills, excellent communication skills, and a hardworking work ethic. Based in the Leeds, West Yorkshire office, it is essential you have at least 12 months’ worth of residential conveyancing experience, specifically sales and purchase, as my client would ideally want the applicant to hit the ground running. You will be a quick and accurate worker and be able to follow instructions carefully while dealing with a high volume of work with a lot of client contact.

- Strong keyboard and IT skills
- Ability to work accurately in accordance with the requirements of the team
- Confident to deal with enquiries in a customer friendly and effective manner
- Experience working under pressure in a fast paced environment
- Able to prioritise your own workload and meet tight deadlines
- A flexible, friendly, and adaptable approach to work
