Eventus Legal is looking for a skilled and professional Private Client Paralegal/Assistant to join an award winning, reputable, and highly respected legal firm based in Huddersfield town centre, West Yorkshire. This is a full time, permanent position offering a competitive salary of up to £27,000, you will not only work with experienced and competent lawyers and legal advisors, but will also enjoy a range of excellent employee benefits, including a minimum 24 days holiday + Bank Holidays, access to buying/selling holidays, Life Insurance, Pension, additional Christmas holidays, Perkbox, electric car scheme and hybrid working flexibility.

Role Responsibilities:

  • Providing proactive and comprehensive administrative and legal support to fee earners across a broad range of Private Client matters.
  • Drafting and preparation of Wills, ensuring accuracy and attention to client instructions.
  • Assisting with Probate applications and the full estate administration process, from initial instruction through to distribution.
  • Supporting on Court of Protection matters, including deputyship applications and ongoing administration.
  • Assisting with the creation and administration of Trusts.
  • Preparing and processing Lasting Powers of Attorney, including registration with the relevant authorities.
  • Managing and maintaining client files efficiently, including opening and closing files, ensuring compliance with internal procedures and regulatory requirements, and keeping accurate and up-to-date records.
  • Acting as a key point of contact for clients, handling enquiries in a professional, empathetic, and confidential manner.
  • Liaising regularly with third parties such as financial institutions, medical professionals, HM Courts & Tribunals Service, and other legal representatives to progress matters effectively.
  • Drafting a wide range of correspondence and legal documentation, ensuring clarity, accuracy, and adherence to firm standards, under appropriate supervision.
  • Supporting fee earners with diary management, appointment scheduling, and general administrative tasks to ensure the smooth running of the department.

Person Specification:

  • Excellent problem solving skills and strong administrative abilities.
  • Ability to demonstrate empathy and sensitivity and communicate effectively.
  • Previous experience within a Private Client support role, with a solid understanding of relevant processes and terminology.
  • Excellent organisational skills, with the ability to prioritise workloads, manage multiple tasks, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Maintain a high level of professionalism and a strong client focused approach.
  • Confidence in working both independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
