Eventus Recruitment is seeking a Conveyancer on a full time permanent basis to join an established law firm in Haywards Heath, West Sussex. This role offers hybrid working following onboarding, with three days office based and two days working from home. The position offers a supportive environment, quality work including both residential and commercial property matters, and strong earning potential. Salary is £50,000-65,000 (depending on experience), with a bonus scheme paying up to 20 percent of billings, 25 days holiday plus bank holidays, pension, and structured support.

Role Responsibilities

  • Managing a caseload of residential and commercial conveyancing files including purchases, sales, freehold, and leasehold matters
  • Case types including shared ownership, right to buy, auctions, limited company, unregistered property, lease extensions, and new builds
  • Progressing matters from instruction through to completion in a timely and efficient manner
  • Liaising with clients, estate agents, lenders, solicitors and the Land Registry to progress transactions
  • Conducting title checks on freehold and leasehold properties
  • Drafting contracts, preparing exchanges and managing completions
  • Ensuring compliance with internal procedures, quality standards and risk management requirements
  • Maintaining regular and clear communication with clients throughout the transaction
  • Working collaboratively with support staff to ensure a high standard of service
  • Accurate time recording and billing in line with firm expectations

Person Specification

  • Qualified Solicitor, Chartered Legal Executive, or Licensed Conveyancer
  • Minimum three years fee earning experience in residential conveyancing and ideally some commercial property experience
  • Experience handling purchase, sale, freehold, and leasehold transactions
  • Additional experience with shared ownership, right to buy, unregistered land, auctions, new builds, would be highly beneficial
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage workload effectively
  • Excellent communication skills with a professional and approachable manner
  • Good technical ability including title checking, raising and responding to enquiries, and contract drafting
  • A collaborative team focused approach
