Eventus Legal are seeking a Residential Conveyancer, Conveyancing Solicitor, Chartered Legal Executive (CILEX) or Licensed Conveyancer to join a well-established and expanding rural law firm. This permanent job offers the opportunity to manage your own varied residential property caseload with autonomy, excellent administrative support and genuine work-life balance. The role is full-time with part-time hours considered for the right candidate.
Candidates based in Settle, North Yorkshire or Grassington, North Yorkshire will receive a salary of £40,000 to £55,000 depending on experience, limited hybrid and remote working flexibility, 36 days annual leave (including bank holidays), an extended Christmas shutdown, workplace pension and a supportive, collaborative working environment. Working hours are 8:45am – 5:00pm with a 45-minute lunch break.
Job Responsibilities
- Managing a varied residential conveyancing caseload from instruction through to completion with minimal supervision
- Handling freehold and leasehold sales and purchases, transfers of equity, remortgages and other residential property transactions
- Providing clear, practical and commercially focused advice to clients throughout the conveyancing process
- Building and maintaining strong relationships with clients, estate agents, lenders and other professional contacts
- Ensuring matters are progressed efficiently whilst maintaining excellent levels of client service
- Contributing to the continued growth and development of the residential property department
- Supporting the firm's reputation for approachable, personal and professional legal advice
- For those with relevant experience, there may be the opportunity to undertake a mixed caseload incorporating Private Client matters including Wills, Lasting Powers of Attorney and Estate Administration
Person Specification
- Applications are sought from qualified Solicitors, Chartered Legal Executives (CILEX) and Licensed Conveyancers with residential conveyancing experience.
- Ideally, you will have a minimum of 2 years' PQE (or equivalent experience) and be confident managing your own caseload independently.
- Qualification as a Solicitor, Legal Executive (CILEX) or Licensed Conveyancer
- A minimum of approximately 2 years post-qualification experience, although those with relevant equivalent experience are encouraged to apply
- Proven ability to manage a residential conveyancing caseload without supervision
- Strong technical knowledge of residential property law and conveyancing procedures
- Excellent communication and client relationship skills
- A proactive and organised approach to managing files and deadlines
- A commitment to delivering exceptional client service
- An interest in developing long-term client and professional relationships within a close-knit community environment
- Previous Private Client experience would be welcomed, although this is not essential
