Eventus Recruitment is seeking a Senior Litigation Solicitor, or Senior Associate, to join a well established and respected regional law firm based in Gillingham, Kent. This is a full time, permanent position offering a salary of £60,000 to £75,000 depending on experience, pension contributions, 25 days holiday plus bank holidays, and a bonus scheme. This opportunity is ideal for an experienced litigation lawyer looking to undertake high quality complex work while playing a key leadership role within a growing and well supported dispute resolution team.
Role Responsibilities
- Managing a broad range of civil and commercial litigation matters with autonomy and sound professional judgement
- Providing clear, pragmatic, and commercially focused advice to clients
- Maintaining a profitable and well managed caseload in line with agreed financial and billing targets
- Ensuring matters are progressed efficiently and in accordance with regulatory and professional obligations
- Assisting in the management and supervision of solicitors, trainees, and support staff
- Acting as a senior technical resource within the litigation team
- Assisting with work allocation, capacity planning, and supervision structures
- Contributing to strategic planning, service development, and improvements to systems and processes
- Participating in marketing, networking, and business development initiatives in Gillingham, Kent and the wider region
- Maintaining strong financial control including billing, work in progress, and cash flow management
Person Specification
- The successful Senior Litigation Solicitor or Senior Associate will be a qualified Solicitor and have strong technical expertise in two of the following areas: general civil litigation, property litigation, contested probate, employment, or insolvency.
- Ideally 10 years PQE or more in litigation
- Management or team supervision experience would be beneficial though not essential
- Proven experience handling complex litigation matters with a high degree of autonomy
- Demonstrable experience supervising, mentoring, or managing other lawyers
- Strong technical litigation skills and excellent attention to detail
- Confident and approachable leadership style with a collaborative mindset
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong commercial awareness and sound professional judgement
- High level of organisation with the ability to manage competing priorities effectively
- Strong IT capability including case management systems and Microsoft Office applications
