The Eventus Recruitment Group are seeking an experienced Legal Secretary to join a successful Dispute Resolution and Employment team in Newcastle. This is a full‑time, permanent role. Benefits are numerous, including a generous holiday allowance rising with service, a healthcare package, and a dress‑for‑the‑day policy.
Role Responsibilities
- Providing secretarial support to the team.
- Dealing with all related correspondence and documentation utilizing Liberate case management system.
- Audio typing as required; formatting, cross‑referencing, auto‑numbering documents.
- Production of letters, emails, documents, invoices and other legal documentation.
- File/Matter management in Liberate including file opening, drafting engagement letters, terms of business, undertaking file closure.
- Adding scanned items to Liberate.
- File management.
- Proofreading all correspondence and business material before it leaves the office.
- Assisting with billing preparation and invoicing.
- Answering client calls regarding new enquiries for the Dispute Resolution and Employment team.
- Booking meetings, training courses and arranging travel when required.
Person Specification
- Experienced in a similar role and a motivated team player with the ability to work independently and provide excellent levels of customer service.
- Accurate typist, ideally with a minimum speed of around 65 wpm.
- Experience working in a team of busy fee earners.
- Exceptional communication skills with accurate spelling and grammar.
- Highly organised with the ability to successfully multi‑task and prioritise workload, manage own time effectively and take ownership of projects and tasks.
- Proficient in Word and Excel.
- Ideally experienced in pdf document collation of bundles for court hearings.
