Eventus Recruitment are seeking a Senior Criminal Defence Solicitor to join a team based in Dewsbury, West Yorkshire. This is a full-time, permanent job. Benefits include a generous holiday allowance, flexitime and hybrid working (up to two days remote per week, after probation).
Role Responsibilities
- The incoming Criminal Defence Solicitor will be responsible for running a full caseload of Magistrates’ cases.
- Attending Police Stations and Magistrates’ Courts, as part of the Court and Police Station Duty Rota Schemes.
- Preparing cases for Magistrates’ Court.
- Advising clients and taking accurate instructions.
- Maintaining standards and compliance set by the Legal Aid Agency.
Person Specification
- Applications are sought from Solicitors with experience in criminal defence matters.
- Holding a Duty Solicitor Qualification would be an advantage, but not essential.
- You will also be confident assisting with a varied caseload.
- Possess a keen eye for detail.
- Demonstrate excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Have the ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
