Eventus Legal is recruiting for an experienced and professional Conveyancing Paralegal to join a well-established and expanding law firm in Ilkley, West Yorkshire. In this role, you will provide comprehensive administrative and paralegal support to Fee Earners within the residential conveyancing department, playing a key part in the smooth running of the team. Role Responsibilities

  • Manage client matters efficiently and accurately using the Proclaim case management system, ensuring compliance with Walker Foster standards and all relevant regulatory requirements.
  • Prepare, organise, and maintain legal files, including the accurate archiving of all supporting documentation.
  • Provide comprehensive diary management for the Fee Earner, including scheduling client appointments and coordinating meetings as required.
  • Draft and prepare client correspondence through audio typing, word processing, and digital dictation.
  • Handle client and third-party telephone calls, enquiries, and requests in a professional and courteous manner, adhering to the firm’s Client Charter.
  • Take ownership of incoming emails, post, and general administrative tasks, including photocopying and document management.
  • Order property searches and carry out necessary client identification checks in line with compliance procedures.
  • Assist with the preparation and coordination of exchanges and completions under the supervision of the Fee Earner.
  • Manage Land Registry processes, including the registration of completed properties and follow-up actions as required.
  • Prepare client billing and maintain accurate account ledgers.
  • Provide support to colleagues, including other assistants and the wider management team, as needed.

Person Specification

  • Previous experience demonstrated within a conveyancing department.
  • Ability to actively listen to clients and colleagues, responding in a professional, approachable, and respectful manner.
  • Clear, concise, and accurate written work, using appropriate grammar, punctuation, and tone to reflect the professional standards of our client’s brand.
  • Effectively manage and prioritise workloads, using time and resources efficiently to meet deadlines and maintain high standards.
  • Confident in the use of Microsoft Office applications and case management systems, including Proclaim.
  • Able to work collaboratively with colleagues, encouraging a positive, supportive, and respectful working environment.
