Eventus Legal are seeking a Legal Secretary or Conveyancing Assistant to join a highly regarded Residential Conveyancing team in Stockton-on-Tees. This is a permanent job that can be worked on a full-time or part-time basis, with excellent hybrid working options available. The successful candidate will benefit from a market-leading benefits package, including 25 days holiday plus bank holidays, additional birthday leave, enhanced family-friendly leave, and a generous salary dependent on experience. Role Responsibilities
- Opening, closing and maintaining client files using the firm’s practice management system
- Obtaining identification documents and conducting AML and media checks
- Preparing standard legal forms and documentation relevant to residential transactions
- Drafting completion statements and memorandums of exchange with support from fee earners
- Preparing invoices and processing payment requisitions
- Setting up files for completion and assisting with post-completion work
- Liaising with the Land Registry to conduct pre-completion searches
- Communicating with clients, estate agents and third parties via telephone, email and post
Person Specification
- Applications are welcomed from experienced Legal Administrators, Legal Secretaries or Conveyancing Assistants who have worked in a conveyancing environment.
- The ideal candidate will possess excellent IT skills, including Microsoft Office and legal databases
- Be organised, reliable and able to manage priorities in a busy environment
- Have strong communication skills and enjoy working as part of a team
- Be adaptable with a strong initiative and can-do attitude
- Demonstrate excellent attention to detail and high levels of accuracy
