Eventus Recruitment are seeking a Child Care Lawyer to join a leading specialist family law firm in London (with offices in Central London and North London). This is a permanent, full‑time job offering hybrid working (2 days in office, 3 days remote), a highly rewarding public law caseload and the opportunity to contribute to a growing Child Care team during a period of firm expansion. This Child Care Lawyer job in London offers a competitive maximum salary of up to £70,000, dependent on experience, caseload and clients taken on (including Guardian work), and represents a compelling opportunity for an experienced child care solicitor looking to develop their career.

About the Job

This Child Care Lawyer job will see you managing a substantial public law caseload at any one time — approximately 25 to 30 ongoing care proceedings — as well as undertaking Guardian work and Guardian following as required. You will be responsible for conducting your own advocacy in Court and also supporting the team by covering advocacy for colleagues when necessary. You will manage files from pre-proceedings through to final hearings, representing parents, children or guardians and working with Social Services, local authorities and other stakeholders. This is a hands‑on, client-focused job that provides scope for high autonomy and professional responsibility.

About You

We are looking for a Child Care Lawyer who is confident, diligent and committed to high quality advocacy and client service. The ideal applicant will have substantial experience in public law child care proceedings and be familiar with representing parents, children or acting in a Guardian capacity. You will be comfortable handling a busy caseload of 25–30 active matters, managing priorities, deadlines and complex litigation. You will have a ‘can do’ attitude, be a strong team player and ready to step in for advocacy when required. A flexible and resilient personality with excellent communication skills and a commitment to client‑centred practice will suit this position well. You should also be able to demonstrate the following:

  • A track record of child care work in public law proceedings
  • Experience of advocacy in care proceedings (or readiness to undertake such advocacy)
  • Capability to undertake Guardian work and Guardian following
  • Strong organisational skills and ability to manage a substantial caseload
  • Ability to work independently and within a collaborative team environment
  • A proactive, positive mindset and willingness to contribute to team growth

Benefits and Rewards

  • Hybrid working (2 days in office in their North London office, 3 days working remotely)
  • Competitive salary up to £70,000 (depending on experience, caseload and following)
  • A rewarding and varied public law children caseload including Guardian work
  • Opportunity to conduct advocacy and build court experience
  • Being part of a growing team during a strategic expansion period
