Eventus Legal Recruitment is seeking a Conveyancer to join a well established and growing residential property team in Brighton, East Sussex. This is a full time, office based role offering a salary of £45,000 to £60,000 depending on experience, together with a bonus scheme, pension contributions, and genuine progression to become Head of Department.

This Conveyancer role will suit a Solicitor, Licensed Conveyancer, Legal Executive, or experienced Fee Earner who is confident managing their own residential conveyancing caseload and looking for a position with clear ownership, autonomy, and long term progression.

Role Responsibilities

The incoming Conveyancer will handle a varied caseload of residential property matters while helping to develop and grow the Brighton office. Duties will include:

  • Managing a broad range of residential conveyancing transactions from instruction through to completion
  • Handling freehold and leasehold sales and purchases
  • Dealing with remortgages and transfers of equity
  • Managing new build property transactions
  • Building and developing your own caseload, working towards 15 to 20 new instructions per month
  • Working independently as a standalone fee earner initially
  • Providing clear, proactive, and professional client care throughout each transaction
  • Liaising with clients, estate agents, lenders, brokers, and other solicitors
  • Supporting the continued growth and development of the Brighton office
  • Engaging in business development and networking activity to help expand the local residential conveyancing presence
Person Specification

Applications are welcomed from qualified Conveyancers with all PQE levels considered, provided they have strong residential conveyancing experience and can manage files independently. The successful candidate will have:

  • Experience handling a residential conveyancing caseload
  • Qualification as a Solicitor, Licensed Conveyancer, or Legal Executive, or strong equivalent fee earning experience
  • The ability to manage files independently with minimal supervision
  • Strong client care and communication skills
  • Good organisation and file management skills
  • Commercial awareness and a proactive approach to building work
  • Confidence working in an office based role
  • The motivation to assist with business development and networking
  • The ambition to help grow a department and progress into a leadership position
