Eventus Recruitment are seeking a Legal Assistant to join a well-established and growing law firm in the Bolton area. This is a permanent, full-time job position offering a salary of £24,000 to £26,000 depending on experience, working Monday to Friday, 9am to 5:15pm. This opportunity is ideally suited to an experienced Legal Assistant or Legal Secretary with a background in commercial property who is looking to develop their career within a supportive and well-resourced team.
As the incoming Legal Assistant you will provide comprehensive support to a Solicitor within the commercial property department, playing a key part in the smooth and efficient running of a busy caseload. This is a varied and hands-on position that will suit someone who takes pride in delivering excellent client care and who enjoys working as part of a close-knit, collaborative team.
Your key responsibilities will include:
- Assisting with the preparation of Contract Packs, Transfer Forms and other legal documents
- Attending to clients both in person and over the telephone in a professional and welcoming manner
- Submitting SDLT forms to HMRC and lodging applications with Land Registry
- Opening and closing client files in line with firm procedures
- Preparing client correspondence, enclosures and billing documentation
- Creating and maintaining accurate client records on the case management system
- Managing and maintaining fee earner diaries, including scheduling meetings and appointments
- Handling routine client correspondence and responding to day-to-day queries
- Maintaining confidentiality of client and firm information at all times
- Providing reception cover as and when required
You will be an experienced Legal Assistant or Legal Secretary with a background in commercial property, looking to bring your skills to a progressive and forward-thinking firm. You will be confident working in a fast-paced environment, managing competing priorities and delivering a consistently high standard of work. You should also be able to demonstrate the following:
- Previous experience in a Legal Assistant or Legal Secretary position, ideally within a property team
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with a confident and professional manner
- Excellent organisational skills and a methodical, detail-focused approach to work
- The ability to manage a varied workload and meet deadlines under pressure
- Discretion when handling sensitive client and firm information
- A proactive, self-motivated attitude with a commitment to excellent client service
- Confidence working with case management systems and standard legal technology
- A collaborative and team-oriented approach
