This Commercial Property Assistant job in Blackburn offers a salary of £25,000 to £28,000 depending on experience, with a hybrid working pattern of four days in the office and one day from home. About the Job
This Property Assistant job will see you supporting an experienced property team with a particular focus on secure lending transactions, alongside wider property matters. You will play a key role in ensuring files progress smoothly from instruction through to completion and post-completion, giving you exposure to the full lifecycle of transactions. The job offers variety, responsibility and the chance to develop within a busy and expanding team driven by continued growth and new work wins.
Key responsibilities include:
- Acting as a central support to fee earners to progress secure lending and property transactions efficiently
- Managing post-completion processes including submissions and ensuring matters are concluded accurately
- Coordinating file opening and onboarding processes to ensure compliance from the outset
- Liaising with clients, lenders and third parties to obtain key information and maintain file progression
- Preparing legal documentation and completion-related paperwork to support transactions
- Supporting compliance requirements including ID checks and source of funds verification
- Maintaining accurate and up-to-date records on case management systems
- Handling client enquiries and delivering a high standard of client service
- Providing general administrative support to ensure the smooth running of the department
About You
This role is ideal for someone with prior experience in a conveyancing support position who is confident working within a fast-paced property team. You will be keen to build on your existing knowledge, particularly within secure lending and post-completion work, and take pride in delivering a high standard of support. You’ll also be able to demonstrate the following:
- Previous experience as a Conveyancing Assistant, Legal Assistant or Legal Secretary within a residential or commercial property team
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities effectively
- A proactive approach with the confidence to take initiative and anticipate team needs
- Competence using case management systems and general IT packages
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy across all aspects of work
- Clear and professional communication skills with clients and colleagues
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information appropriately
- Positive and collaborative attitude with a willingness to learn and develop
